Announcing Maritime Master – Skipper: A New Training App for Small Craft Owners

At Maritime Master, our mission has always been simple: to make maritime knowledge accessible, engaging, and effective, whether you’re training for professional certification or simply want to be safer and more confident on the water.

With that in mind, we’re thrilled to announce our next step: Maritime Master – Skipper, a brand-new app designed especially for small craft owners, recreational sailors, and those working towards Day Skipper-level competence.

It’s still early in development, but we want to give you a first look at what’s coming and why we believe Skipper will be a game-changer for leisure mariners.

🌊 Why We’re Building Skipper

Our existing apps, like Maritime Master and Maritime Master – OOW, have found their place in training students and officers. But we kept hearing the same thing from the community:

“What about us? I’ve got a yacht, a motor cruiser, or a small craft. I don’t need OOW-level radar plotting, but I do want to brush up on rules of the road, coastal navigation, weather, and seamanship.”

That’s exactly where Skipper comes in. We’re tailoring it for the practical needs of day skippers, weekend sailors, and small boat owners who want an easy-to-use digital companion for training and reference.

We want to be upfront: Maritime Master – Skipper is still in its early stages. We’ve scoped the first modules, built early prototypes, and mapped out the user experience. But it’s going to take time to polish, test, and refine.

This is a voyage we’re just setting out on. The app will launch with a core set of features on Sep 30th 2025, then grow steadily with feedback from users like you.
