Maritime Master Radar

Maritime Master Radar is a radar simulator you can carry in your pocket. Practise reading and plotting on a beautifully simulated display, complete with authentic themes, evolving weather and clutter, and target behaviour that rewards good technique.

It is a place to learn and rehearse the concepts at your own pace, from your first sweep of the screen to ARPA plotting in restricted visibility. It is a study and practice tool, not a substitute for an approved radar or ARPA course or for real equipment.

A Full Featured Simulated Radar

Switch between relative and true motion, and head-up, course-up, and north-up orientations. Work with electronic bearing lines, variable range markers, parallel index lines, true and relative trails, circular and sector guard zones, and anti-grounding alerts.

A chart overlay with day, dusk, and night palettes adds land, shadow sectors, and receiver noise, while sea and rain clutter, squalls, gain, and tuning behave the way the textbook says they should. Optional sensor error models add gyro drift and log errors for advanced practice.

Practise ARPA Techniques

Acquire and track targets, read CPA and TCPA at a glance, set danger thresholds, and run trial manoeuvres before you commit to a turn. A simulated AIS overlay lets you practise combining data sources, the way you would study it in the classroom.

Scenarios and Training Packs

Start with free classic scenarios, then take on procedurally generated practice watches of fifteen minutes to two hours and directed situations like crossing rushes, fog close-quarters, late give-way vessels, and developing distress calls.

Six guided training packs cover COLREGs crossings, restricted visibility, ARPA tracking, pilotage, traffic separation schemes, and yacht radar. Each has levels, goals, badges, and shareable completion certificates to mark your progress.

Debrief Every Session

Every session ends with a score out of one hundred, closest points of approach, early action analysis, missed contacts, and a replayable timeline. Voiceover briefings set the scene before you begin, and a guided walkthrough teaches the display from your very first launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a real radar? No. Every target, AIS contact, chart, and sensor reading is generated by the simulation. The app has no connection to real radar, AIS, or GPS, which is exactly what makes it safe to practise on.

​

What is the difference between Pro and Pro Max? Pro unlocks unlimited watches, all training packs, debriefs, and every watch duration. Pro Max adds the scenario creator, scenario import and export, report export, radar configuration profiles, and instructor tools.

​

Do the certificates count as qualifications? No. They record practice within the simulator and are great for motivation, but they are not certificates of competency or evidence of simulator time.
