Chart-style backdrops
You can capture a chart-style snapshot of almost anywhere in the world, with seamark detail overlaid on the base map, and sketch straight over it. That makes it easy to set an exercise in a familiar harbour or channel and annotate the features that matter. When you would rather begin with a clean slate, a blank open-water canvas gives you room to explain a concept without any distractions.
A library of symbols
The app includes more than forty symbols that you can drag, resize, and rotate to fit your drawing. They are grouped into seven categories: cardinal marks, lateral marks for Region A, preferred channel marks, hazard and safe water marks, racing buoys, vessels large and small, and wind and tide indicators. Dropping in the right buoy or vessel takes only a moment, so your board stays consistent and your students can focus on the point you are making.
Drawing tools and modes
You can draw with an Apple Pencil or simply a fingertip, choosing from pens, markers, and highlighters to suit the moment. An eraser and a lasso let you tidy up or move your work, and a ruler helps you lay down straight bearings. Three modes keep things flexible: edit for building your board, pan and zoom for finding your way around it, and a locked presentation mode for showing the finished sketch without accidental changes.
Save, export, and share
Projects save on the device with full editing, so you can come back to a board later and keep refining it.
